My fellow fitness enthusiasts will know why I swear by a banana protein smoothie after a good workout. The body's glucose level goes down during a workout, which is why anyone into endurance or strength training consumes a good carb and protein mix post training, and I am no less.
The problem with keeping raw bananas is that they go bad really quickly, I swear it's like you blink and it becomes black. And given the amount of bananas I consume on an everyday basis- in smoothies, with oatmeal, with oats pancake, as a topping on my protein supplement and yogurt blend, I really do need a good amount of it lying around.
I found a better, and actually cheaper (if you compare it with the amount of bananas I've had to throw away) solution in Frubites. These are actual fruits, taste delicious, the crunch actually gives a different take to many healthy desserts, and I can store it for ages!
Here's my favorite quick and healthy post-workout smoothie with banana frubites:
- A cup of almond (or cow's) milk (you can even use plain yogurt as the base)
- Cocoa powder
- A pinch of cinnamon
- Few drops of vanilla essence
- Banana Frubites
- Protein powder (optional)
Blend all the ingredients
Enjoy your healthy Banana Chocolate Smoothie #WithoutTheFuss
Or if you’re not a fitness enthusiast too, you’d find this drink worth sipping on at any time of the day or night.
